Re: Nikkor 70-200 f4 vs 2.8E FL. In reply to ArmadaSetyadi ‱ Oct 24, 2018. 1. 70-200 FL is great at infinity focusing distance. Near minimum focusing distance, the lens is rather soft from 195-200mm. Zooming back just a little at 190mm sharpness is much better. 70-180mm is pretty good at MFD.
The internal design of Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR consists of 21 elements in 16 groups and 7 of those are ED elements. The focusing motor type is Ring-type ultrasonic and both the focusing and zooming happen internally. It’s compatible with both the DX and FX bodies and it equals to about 105 – 300mm if you decide to use it on a DX body.
