Carrying on from the EOS-1Ds the Mark II has a full size 35 mm (36 x 24 mm) sensor which means it introduces no field-of-view crop, an 18 mm lens on this camera will provide

The Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II employs a 21-Zone Evaluative Metering system, which divides the image area into 21 zones of different sizes, with a honeycomb pattern in the central portion of the frame.

Although not light, the tactile feel and balance are excellent. The 1Ds II feels great in my hand. I find that some setting changes are not as intuitive and logical as I would prefer, but I have definitely acclimated to the functionality. I sometimes use the original 1Ds. It's like driving out with an old classic car for enjoyment. I have more fun with this camera than my 5Ds. The 1Ds can do nice prints at A2 which is plenty for nearly all use. If I need more MP for landscape I just stitch. M Lenson's gear list: Sony Mavica FD-200 Canon EOS-1Ds NEX-5T Canon EOS 5DS Canon EOS 5DS
